A New Theremin
I’ve been working on this for the last few weeks. Yes, those are replica RCA oscillator coils. I’ll post more info later, but for now Ill just say that it is a FET-based RCA circuit and I’m ” very pleased” with how its sounds. ; )

Theremin Coils

Probably the most intimidating part of building a vacuum tube theremin (or Tesla coil) is the prospect of making large custom inductor coils. Just the thought of winding gossamer-thin magnet wire thousands of turns by hand is enough to scare away most amateur builders. While winding large coils isn’t necessarily difficult, making the end result look so pretty is.

For over five years (sheesh, already?!) I’ve been hand-winding large inductors for other builders and enthusiasts. Theremins, Tesla coils, or otherwise – if you can get me the specifications ( diameter, wire gauge, and # of turns) I can wind it.
